OBITUARY
Published in the Culbertson Progress, Culbertson, Hitchcock County, Nebraska on December 28, 1933.

WACKER - Mrs. Christina Wacker, nee Ross, was born on November 14, 1863, in Norga, Russia, and departed this life at her home in Culbertson, Nebraska, on December 20, 1933, having reached the age of 70 years, 1 month and 6 days.
Mrs. Wacker immigrated to America from Russia in 1873 with her parents and landed near Culbertson, where her parents homesteaded. She has lived in and around Culbertson since.
On January 1, 1883, she was united in marriage to C. Wacker. This union was blessed with seven children, two of whom have preceeded their mother in death.
She was converted to God in the year 1886 under the labors of Rev. I. Laipply and united with the Evangelical church, becoming one of its charter members. In her home she was a very kind and devoted wife and mother. It was here that she lived true to the trust committed to her. It was here that her sweet Christian spirit was manifested. As a neighbor she was much loved, and always anxious to know how other folks were getting on.
On January 1, 1933, the golden wedding anniversary of this worthy couple was duly observed by the members of their family. It was indeed a day of rejoicing for her. Yes, almost 51 years of happy, married life have passed into history and now she has gone on home, to await the coming of her loved ones, where partings never come.
She leaves to mourn her passing her most deeply bereaved husband; five children, Mrs. Peter Spahn, Mrs. Charles Fahrenbruch, of Culbertson, Sam of McCook, Mrs. Oscar Huber and Mrs. Wm. Wagner of Culbertson; nineteen grandchildren, two brothers, Rev. Adam Ross of Jansen and Henry Ross of Culbertson, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at 10 a.m. from the home and from the Zion Evangelical church, Rev. F.C. Ebinger, assisted by Rev. E.F. Haist, of Kearney, conducting the services. The services were very largly attended and the floral offerings were many and beautiful which is a testimonial as to the esteem in which Mrs. Wacker was held in the community.
