John Sitzman, 89 of Greeley, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Inpatient Unit. John was born Apr. 19, 1908, to John and Marie (Rohrig) Sitzman in Lincoln, NE. On June 18, 1931, he married Emma Feit at the Congregational Church in Greeley. He came to Colorado in 1914, where he grew up and attended school. Mr. Sitzman lived in Johnstown for 22 years.
John farmed in Ashton District, Gill and Greeley, where he retired in 1971. He was an avid fisherman. He was a past Master Mason, 32nd Degree Mason, had just received his 50-year pin, Rainbow Dad and was a past Patron Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Emma of Greeley; two daughters and a son; two sisters; two brothers; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. His sister Molly Gettman, is deceased.
