RITES HELD THURSDAY FOR JOHN J. FELDMAN

John J. Feldman, aged 68 years and six months, prominent Minster farm resident, died suddenly a few minutes after he had complained of feeling ill, at the Van Wert County hospital where he visited his wife, a surgical patient.

Mr. Feldman complained of difficulty in breathing and left his wife's room for a breath of air. He was accompanied outside by Paul Boerger, who with Mrs. Boerger had made the trip with him. Upon reaching the bottom of the hospital steps he suddenly became limp and it is believed, died immediately, presumably from a heart attack.

Efforts of physicians, who reached the stricken man's side within a few moments, were futile. A priest, who at the time was talking to a friend near St. Mary's church of Van Wert, close to the hospital, was summoned by Mr. Boerger and he administered the last sacrament of the Catholic church to Mr. Feldman.

Mrs. Feldman, who entered the hospital April 1 and submitted to surgery the following day for removal of an eye cataract, was brought to the family residence a half-mile south of Minster Wednesday afternoon. The eye bandage had been removed, however she was under instructions of her physicians to remain in bed several days.

Funeral services for Mr. Feldman were conducted in St. Augustine's church Thursday morning, the Rev. Otto Mueller officiating, and interment followed in the church burial ground. He was a member of the Holy Name and St. Augustine societies of the church.

Born in the residence owned by Henry Hackemoeller on South Main street, son of Henry and Bernadine (Richter) Feldman, on Oct 22, 1878, he married Josephine Thieman June 16, 1903. Surviving are the widow; a son, Henry, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Bernadine) Boerger, Ft. Loramie; two grandchildren, Joan and Carl Boerger; and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Hackemoeller. Three sisters, Anna, Adeline and Rose, died in girlhood.
