Thomas E. Duchow, age 58, formerly of 1213 Cottonwood Road, Brillion, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, 2006, at Harmony West of Manitowoc, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born April 2, 1948, in Manitowoc, son of Emil and Lorraine (Jung) Duchow.

Tom was a graduate of Valders High School, class of 1966. In his youth, Tom belonged to the Rockland Sunshine 4-H Club.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam.

On Dec. 15, 1973, he married the former Dorothy Jean Tegen at Rockwood Lutheran Church. Tom was employed with Tecumseh of New Holstein for 40 years. He also owned and operated a dairy farm near Collins. Tom was a member of Vietnam Veterans 731, Rockea Hunting Club, and Collins Paradise Sno Riders. He enjoyed farming all his life.

Survivors include his wife: Dorothy Jean Duchow;
three daughters: Michelle Duchow, Appleton; Heather Duchow and special friend, Paul Pedrosa, Milwaukee; Shannon Duchow and her fiance, Corey Schoonover, Milwaukee;
two sons: Shawn Duchow, Las Vegas; Matthew Duchow, rural Brillion;
a granddaughter: Skylar Duchow;
his parents: Emil and Lorraine Duchow, Chilton;
four sisters and a brother-in-law: Katherine and Tom Johnstone, Kiel; Jean Hack and special friend, Patrick, Manitowoc; Pat Woelfel, Hilbert; Tammy Kenneke, St. Nazianz;
two brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Ann Duchow, Chilton; Gerald and Julie Duchow, Chilton; mother-in-law: Dorothy Tegen, Manitowoc;
two sisters-in-law: Anna Matney, Colorado; Mary Tegen and special friend, Bob, California;
three brothers-in-law: Roy Tegen, Manitowoc; John Tegen and his wife, Theresa, Two Rivers; and Tim Tegen and special friend, Jenny, Two Rivers.
Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Eldon Tegen;
two brothers-in-law: Jim Kenneke, Ronnie Meyer;
and a niece: Rachelle Woelfel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Collins. Graveside military rites will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans 731.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, and Monday morning at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
