Mary R. Church, a Lewiston homemaker, died of cancer Saturday night at the Lewiston Care Center. She was 85.

She was born April 9, 1905, at West Mineral, Kan., to Dominico and Eda Savio Cassetto. The family lived in Kansas until 1910 and moved to Potlatch, Idaho, where they lived for six months before settling at Lewiston. She had lived at Clarkston and Lewiston ever since.

She was married to Mike D. Church Feb. 4, 1923, at Lewiston. He died Dec. 15, 1954.

Mrs. Church was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar Society. She was active in the Garfield School Parent-Teachers Association.

Survivors include a son, Dwight; four daughters, Helen, Barbara, Marcella, and Patricia; three brothers, John Cassetto at Lewiston, Mike and Joe; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A sister, Pauline Stanford, died March 15, 1985.
