LIBERTYVILLE - The service for Florence V. Oliver, 89, of Libertyville, who died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, in the Long-Term Care Unit of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, was at 2:30 p.m. today at Libertyville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Charles Lunkley officiating. Burial was in Brethren Cemetery near the church. Memorials to her church may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oliver was born Sept. 30, 1905, in Salt Creek Township, Davis County, the daughter of Theodore Walter and Winnie Pearl Hughes Rogers. She graduated from Selma High School and was a rural school teacher. On Feb. 1, 1924, she married Francis Abraham "Abe" Oliver in Eldon. He died Aug. 30, 1979. They held pastorates in the Church of the Brethren at Libertyville; Hurricane Creek and Allison Prairie, Ill.; Cordell, Okla.; Grandview, Mont.; and Chippewa Valley, Wis. She was a member of the Brethren and the Brethren Ladies Aid.
Surviving are three sons, Laddie and Gordon, both of Douds, Brace of Libertyville; four daughters, Wanda Zuehlke of Washington, Iowa, Vivian Sherred of Memphis, Tenn., Violet Oliver of Lansing, Mich., Miriam Headley of Hutchinson, Kan.; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. A brother, Horld Rogers, and a grandson preceded her in death.
