Mae Frances Luken, 93, died November 16, 2005 at Elgin, IL. She was born March 18, 1913, in Knox, IN.
Preceded in death by her father, Henry and mother, Helena; brothers, Edward, Elmer, of San Pierre, IN and Harold, Leicester, England; and sister, Luella Koch, Elgin, IL.
Survived by her nephews, Mark and Bryan Luken (England), Douglas (Naples, FL) and Donald Koch (River Forest, IL), Leroy (Crown Point, IN) and James Luken (Sarasota, FL); nieces, Elizabeth Theis (San Pierre, IN) and Joann Bullard (Logansport, IN).
Mae was a native of San Pierre, Indiana, where her forefathers homesteaded in the 1800's. She spent her early years on the family homestead farm before moving to the Chicago area in the late 30's for work. She then moved to Elgin, IL, in 1940 to live with her sister and brother-in-law. Mae was an employee of the Elgin Nation Watch Co. working in the Escape department from 1941 until the factory closed in 1965. She then was employed at Lee Wards in the catalogue department until her retirement in 1979.
Funeral services were held at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Medaryville, Indiana, Saturday, November 19, 2005. Interment was in the St. Marks Lutheran Cemetery, Medaryville, IN.
