SAN PIERRE -- Mrs. Helena Luken, 81, of Rt. 1, San Pierre, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox. She suffered a broken hip July 2 in her home. She underwent surgery last Monday. She was born November 28, 1880, in Medaryville. She was married in December 1901, in Medaryville, to Henry Luken. He died in December 1952. Surviving are two sons, Edward, of San Pierre, and Harold, of La Porte; two daughters, Mrs. Luella Koch, and Miss Mae Luken, both of Elgin, Ill., and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call in the McCormick Funeral Home, North Judson. The body will be taken to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Medaryville, at noon Tuesday. Services will be in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Carl Buschlein, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
