SHREVEPORT, LA - Betty Cahn Grant, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014.

Mrs. Grant was born in Shreveport, October 9, 1922, to the late Rosabel C. Cahn and Henry E. Cahn. She was the widow of Walter S. Grant, to whom she was married for over 35 years, until his death in 1981. She was a graduate of Byrd High School and continued her education at Washington University and the University of Texas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grant was predeceased by her brother-in-law, H.H. (Jack) Fleishman. She is survived by her children, Peggy and Leroy Nuckolls; Kay and John Whittington; her grandchildren, Ann and Grant Nuckolls, Ashley and Chris Netherton, and Jill and John DePhillips; her great-grandchildren Emma Nuckolls, Whitley Netherton, and Jacob DePhillips; sisters, Henry Elaine Dreyfuss and Carrolyn Fleishman; and her brother-in-law, Jules Dreyfuss. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, and her extended family, Rosie Powell, Lillie Long, Shirley Johnson, Shirley Taylor and Jennifer Hall.

Mrs. Grant will be remembered for her great sense of humor, sharp wit, and loving heart. Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, including geometric painting, cooking, canasta, and following business and energy markets. Mrs. Grant was a member of B`nai Zion Temple and Sisterhood. She served on the Board of B`nai Zion Temple.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the excellent care of Dr. Robert Hernandez, Laura Perkins, and Dr. Chad Hargon; and the extraordinary care and loving kindness of the staff of the Life Path Hospice and Grace Home.

Graveside services will be held at B`nai Zion section of Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Rabbi Dr. Jana De Benedetti officiating. The family will receive visitors at their home, 10990 Belle Cour Way in Shreveport from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to B`nai Zion Temple, 245 Southfield Road (71105) or the charity of choice .
