Peter Frick Sr., a resident of Culbertson since 1940 and a farmer of this community prior to that date, died at his home here Monday afternoon following several years of poor health. He was 76 years of age.
Mr. Frick suffered a stroke about four years ago, and a year later he suffered another stroke, which was more severe. Since that time, his health had declined steadily.
The deceased, a son of Conrad and Christina Frick, was born in Huck, Russia, on June 1, 1878.
His marriage to Catherina Kindsvater took place in Huck, Russia on November 15, 1901. Mr. and Mrs. Frick were the parents of nine children, three of whom preceded their father in death. John and Alex died in early childhood, and Elmer passed away in 1938 at the age of 21.
The family came to America in 1902 and made their home in this community. In 1903 they moved to Lincoln where they remained for three years before returning to Culbertson in 1906. A farm one and one-half miles north of Culbertson was the family home until Mr. Frick retired from farming in 1940 when he and his wife moved to town.
Mr. Frick was confirmed in Russia in 1893 and was a member of Zion Evangelical U.B. church in Culbertson.
Survivors include his widow; five sons, Pete of Ogden, Utah; Jake and Edward of Culbertson; Reuben of Denver, Colorado; and Harry of McCook; one daughter, Mrs. Alma Miller of Culbertson; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Catherine Huck of Luseland, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Funeral services will be conducted here at Zion Evangelical U.B. church tomorrow (Friday) at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. M.G. Braun officiating. Burial will be in the Culbertson cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann funeral home of McCook.
