He was born Nov. 28, 1885 at Pfeifer, Ks. where he married Anna Sauer on Jan. 19, 1904.
He farmed in the Loretto community, Rush County, until 1944 when he retired to Dodge City, KS. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish and of the Holy Name Society.
Survivors are his wife, four sons, Monsignor Alex Stremel, Father Joseph Stremel, Nicholas, Dodge City and Al P., Phoenix, Ariz; six daughters, Sister Mary Alexia, Marie, Dodge City, KS., Mrs. Clinton Issinghoff, Wichita, KS., Mrs. Matt Schoemaker, Ford, KS., Mrs. John Jacobs, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Raymond Schlitt, Russell, KS.; one sister, Mrs. Christina Weaver of Brighton, CO.; two brothers, Andrew of Arcadia, Calif. and Leo, Dighton, KS.; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Three children are deceased, Anthony, Sister M. Loretto and Clara Rome.
The burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, KS. Priests attending the funeral services were Monsignors J.J. Grellner, A.A.
