Mr. William Dan Jackson, 91, of Newnan died June 17, 2005, at Newnan Hospital.
A native of Heard County, he was born Sept. 9, 1913, to the late Jim and Effie Frances Newman Jackson. For many years, he was a rural mail carrier for the postal service and later in life was in real estate sales and development. He had served as commissioner for his district in Coweta County, was very active in McIntosh Lodge # 735 and had received his 50 year service recognition. Mr. Jackson was honored to be a charter member of Unity Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Ronald Jackson, in 1994.
The funeral service will be held Monday, June 20, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church on Smokey Road. Pastor Danny Wilson will officiate and interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Jackson's memory to the Unity Baptist Church Building Fund or to McIntosh Lodge # 735. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mckoon.com.
