On November 14, 1916, Mr. Welch married the former Ella Matt in St. Joseph's Church.
In 1919 Mr. Welch established the E.B. Welch Motor Car Co. It was one of the first automobile dealerships in the Utica area. He retired in 1960.
Surviving Mr. Welch besides his wife, Ella, is one daughter, Joan W. Lally, of Utica; one son, Mr. Robert E. Welch, Barneveld; one, sister. Mrs. Joseph J. Trainer, Philadelphia, PA; seven grandchildren, Karen W. Klusmeyer of Utica, Peter L. Lally of Clinton, Dr. Michael F. Welch of University Heights, Ohio, Christopher M. Welch of Columbus, IN, Susan W. Bradley of Barneveld, Mary C. Welch of Seattle, WA and R. Samuel Welch of Barneveld. There are also six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Welch was predeceased by his daughter, Carol P. Welch, in 1941.
