Lydia Emma Sigmund was born March 20, 1927 to Paul and Lena (Blume) Reimnitz. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church at rural Dimock, SD. Lydia married Edwin E Sigmund November 17, 1945. They farmed south of Mt. Vernon until moving to Mitchell in 2002.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Lydia enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and tending her flowers. She also sewed many quilts for missions.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Edwin E. Sigmund; daughter, Dianne Marie Roth; five brothers: Louis Reimnitz; George Reimnitz; Leonard Reimnitz; Paul Reimnitz; Robert Reimnitz; two.sisters-in-law, Anita Reimnitz and Beverly Reimnitz and one brother-in-law, Otto Stahl.
