Lena had a younger sister, Araminda Clara Sandidge (1866 - 1955; married names were first Day, then Mudge). According to a biography in an older McDonough County, Illinois book she also had a brother, George B. (1864 - 1865) and a sister, Anna (unknown - 1866).
This same biography states Philena (and her sister Araminda) were both school teachers at the time the biography was published.
Lena appears to have met Jacob Holzemer in Montana, but I'm unaware of how/why she may have moved there from Illinois. From early research, it appears her parents remained in Illinois as did her sister Araminda. In any case, a Montana marriage record shows they married in 1886.
Lena bore six children, three of whom died in infancy or childhood. Three survived into adulthood and spent most if not all of their lives in the Seattle area.
After Jacob died in 1923, it appears Lena lived with younger daughter Ruth and her family, remaining in the Seattle area.
