June Holzemer was the 1st child of Jacob and Lena Sandidge Holzemer who raised their family in Lewistown, Montana in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

According to lengthy tribute/obituary published 5 days after her passing, June died at age 4 of "a sudden attack of laryngitis the preceding night" that the doctor could not successfully treat.

The paper noted everyone in town was shocked to hear of her passing and that "on the day of the funeral all the business houses of the town were closed and our citizens turned out in mass to pay a last tribute to little June". This attention to her passing can undoubtedly be largely attributed to the significant role June's father, Jacob Holzemer, had in the founding and development of Lewistown.

The tribute/obituary, published on 9 March 1893 in The Mineral Argus is elaborate, including a lengthy paragraph extolling June's sweet qualities and a 4 stanza poem (no author attribution).

June shares her cemetery marker with sister Elizabeth and brother Emery who also died in childhood. I visited the cemetery on my June 2013 Family History Research Trip to Lewistown and Fort Benton.
