Mrs. Emma Wooley Ashby, born two miles south of Mt. Ayr, April 20, 1879, passed away at the Gary Hospital on Nov. 6, 1941. She was married to Hiram Ashby May 27, 1900. A son, Forrest, was born in this union. At the age of 14 she joined the United Brethren church at No. 7. She leaves her husband, one son, one brother, Benjamin Wooley and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hough and Mrs. Elizabeth Satation and lots of relatives and friends. One brother, William Wooley, preceeded her in death in 1936.
