William Woolly, 64, former town clerk, died at the Jasper county hospital, Rensselaer, at 5 o'clock last evening, following an operation. Born south of here May 20, 1872, he was the son of William, Sr., and Eliza Woolly, and married Mary Wildrick, Dec. 25, 1893.

He received his early education in Newton county school and was graduated from Valparaiso university, then teaching school. After serving as city clerk, he entered the insurance business. Mr. Woolly was a member of the local U.B. church and K. of P. lodge.

Surviving with the widow are the following sisters and brother: B.G. Woolly and Mrs. Elizabeth Staton, of Brook. Mrs. Emma Ashby, of Gary, and Mrs. Sadie Hough, of Brook.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the U.B. church with the Rev. B.E. Chamers officiating; interment at Riverside cemetery.
