Henry came to the United States in 1885 and found his first employment on a farm in St. Cloud Minnesota. He later worked as a clerk in a mercantile house. By 1893 he was on his way to California. He first did gardening work in Santa Rosa and then settled in San Jose in 1896 and was soon supplying vegetables to the local markets year round. He died of Cerebral Hemmorrhage in 1953.
