ERNEST CARSON
Ernest Carson, 74 of 246 River Street, Oneonta, retired electrician on the D & E Railroad, died March 30, 1958, at his home after an illness of two years.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m., Wednesday, April 2, at his home with the Rev. ___ Scott Farley, retired clergyman officiating. The body was placed in the Sookhout Funeral Home vault for a later burial in Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Bearers were Harry Watkins, Charles Doutch, Robert J. Lynch, Harold Warner, Arthur Damaschke and Howard B. Smith.
Mr. Carson was born November 13, 1883 in Hancock, a son of Abraham and Mary Jane Carson. He married Saloma Prindle on March 17, 1910 in Oneonta.
A resident of Oneonta for 52 years, he was a member of the Oneonta Sportsman Club. Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Mrs. Edna O'Donnell, Winney Hill Road; Mrs. Mildred Evans, 246 River Street; Mrs. Elsie Renwick, West Davenport; Mrs. Evelyn Chambers, Binghamton; one sister-in-law Mrs. Minnie Carson, Brown's Nursing Home; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
