The deceased was born at Schemenich, Germany in 1831 and came to America in 1865, locating with other members of the family in the town of Woodville, this county where he has since resided until the final summons came.
He was a hard working man and through his thrift and saving succeeded in accumulating sufficient of the world's good to make him comfortable in the declining years of his life. He was a good citizen and enjoyed the respect and good will of his neighbors and friends.
His wife died some twenty-five years ago. He is survived by two sons and four daughters and one brother, Jacob Jaeckles of Milwaukee.
The funeral was held on Thursday morning from the St. John Catholic Church with interment in St. John cemetery.
