NIEBRUGGE. May, 1983: the Rev. Richard William Niebrugge, 48, of St. Mary's Catholic church in Fieldon was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital. He was ordained on 25 May, 1962. He attended the seminary at St. Henry's in Belleville. He formerly served St. Mary's and SS. Peter and Paul both in Alton and St. Patrick's at Grafton. He was born in Effingham, son of the late Anthony and Anna Aulenbrock Niebrugge. Surviving are six brothers, Paul and Alphonse, both of Effingham, Lawrence and Anthony both of Effingham County, Ambrose of Dietrich, and Rev. Herman Niebrugge of Mattoon; and four sisters, Martha Muehlenfeld of Blue Water, Florida, Johanna Spracklen of Selbyville, sister Agatha Niebrugge of Breese and Delores Stockman of Effingham. Visitation will be 5 to 9 pm today at St. Mary's Catholic church in Fieldon. A prayer service will be read at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated there Saturday At 10 am. Burial will be Monday in St. Mary's Help of Christians cemetery in Effingham County and memorials may be made to the church in Fieldon. Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
