Born in Kelly, KS to German immigrant parents Henry and Josephine, Louis was the youngest of 12 children.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a millwright and founder of Yolo Machinery Erectors.

Louis and Jane have been members of the Woodland community since their marriage in 1955. In his retirement, Louis enjoyed ranching, raising Black Angus.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, his five children and their spouses: Brenda Kinkel (Greg); Sheri Kozina (Joe); Janie Brooks (Jim); Jim Niehues (Donyel); and Chuck Niehues (Kathy).

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother, Paul Niehues and sister, Anna Christman.

He was a wonderful husband and loving father. His greatest pleasure came from holding his babies.

He is loved and will be missed dearly. Services will be held at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, May 18, at 10:30 a.m.
