She married Gilbert F. Kippes on Sept. 22, 1948, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1999.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, St. John's Auxiliary, Ellis County Historical Society and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, Thomas Kincaid artwork, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Kippes and wife, Charisse, Dallas, and Warren Kippes and wife, Angie, Hays; two daughters, Sharon Wegele and husband, Gary, Hays, and Sheila Allen and husband, Don, Wichita; a sister, Lillian Schumacher and husband, Leland, Victoria; a sister-in-law, Marian Dreiling, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leo F. Dreiling Jr., Thomas Dreiling and John Dreiling; two infant brothers, Virgil and Frederick Dreiling; two sisters, Anita Feltis and Shirley Gross; and an infant sister, Lillian Dreiling.
Services will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested in her memory to Via Christi Assisted Living, Hospice of Hays Medical Center or Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
