Mrs. Huedepohl, 77 Dies Of Heart Failure.
Following 14 months of failing health, Mrs. Adolph Huedepohl, 77, died at her home Monday, Mar. 1, 1971 at 7:15 p.m. from heart failure.
She was born in Iowa township, Iowa county, Sept. 24, 1893, the daughter of Edward and Anna Heitshusen Newkirk. As a young woman she lived on farms in Iowa and York townships and attended the parochial school at Immanuel in York.
On May 22, 1917 she married Adolph H. Huedepohl in the Immanuel Lutheran church. The couple lived in York township until 1947 when they retired and moved to their home in Williamsburg. Mrs. Huedepohl was a lifetime member of the Lutheran church and at the time of her death was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Williamsburg.
She was mother of six children, four of whom survive. Survivors include her husband and daughters Mrs. Oren (Minerva) Schmidt, Homestead; Mrs. Paul (Alice) Rudin, Marengo; Mrs. Bernard (Lucille) Madorin and Mrs. Truman (Irma) Wardenburg, both of Williamsburg. Other survivors are a twin sister, Mrs. William Von Ahsen, two other sisters, Mrs. Henry Doehrmann and Mrs. Otto Iburg, all of Williamsburg and one brother, Edward Newkirk, Fairfax.
Funeral services for Mrs. Huedepohl were Thursday, Mar. 4 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. L. A. Aurich officiating. Mrs. Ernest Heudepohl at the organ accompanied the congregation as they sang "Abide, oh Dearest Jesus" and "I'm But a Stranger Here". In charge of flowers were Mrs. William Roemig and Mrs. Minnie Wardenburg.
Casket carriers were Gilbert and Loren Von Ahsen, Delmar and Robert Iburg, Eldon and Marvin Doehrmann. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery in York township.
