Hildegarde Elizabeth Arens Schueth, 96, of Crossett died Sunday, December 16, 2001, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born September 10,1905, in Dyersville, IA, to William H. and Mary Barbara Schirmer Arens, she was a retired nurse's aide and enjoyed visiting with people. A member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Schueth, and a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Schueth.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Schueth and wife Mary Jane of Crossett; one brother, Arthur Anthony Arens of Marion, IA; four grandchildren, Stephen, Gail, Katie and Daniel; and two great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, in the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Neil Pezzulo officiating. A visitation, followed by a prayer service, was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 21, in the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Coffey, Bobby Gill, Frank Mazzanti, Charles Grassi, Louis Horton, Ron Henley, Oscar Nelson and Martin Gutman.
Interment will be announced later, to be held at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Dyersville, IA, with arrangements by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
