Henry R. Schmunk, 79, of Route 1, Mithell, died Thursday morning in a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1876, and married Katherine HONSTEIN (sic) in 1895. They moved from Winnipeg, Canada in 1905 to Sugar City, Colorado, and in 1912 moved to this area. For 35 years he farmed three miles west and two south of Scottsbluff. Mr. and Mrs. Schmunk celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary last December 29. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife; five sons, John of Bayard, Alex of Mitchell, Reuben of Vancouver, Washington, Henry of Morrill, and Harry of Mitchell Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Jacob Nuss of Lodi,California, Mrs. Alice Gabel of Minatare and Mrs. Solomon Haun of Gering; one sister, Mrs. Julia Specht of Mitchell; 24 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services are pending at Boley-Dennis Funeral Home.
