Services Friday For Fred Uehling

Fred J. Uehling, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 14th, at his home in
Uehling. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Mr. Uehling was born November 4, 1873 to Theodore and Katherine
Uehling, on a farm near Hooper. With his father, he was active in
the founding of the town of Uehling. He owned and operated a
hardware store for may years before he retired. He was a member of
the Congregational Church, had served as treasurer of the school
board, and was active in civic and community affairs.

On September 14, 1910, he and Miss Magdalena Menshik were married
at Fremont. They had lived all of their married life in Uehling.

Mr. Uehling is survived by his wife; and five children, Luetta
(Mrs. Marvin Fritz) of Oshkosh, Nebraska, Mrs. Rosemary Hansen of
Omaha, Beulah (Mrs. Kenneth Koehler) of Kennard, Nevin of Omaha,
and Wayne of Uehling: nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
One brother, Frank, of Lincoln, and one sister, Mrs. Jesse Golder
of Uehling. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers
and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the
Congregational church in Uehling with Rev. Allen Martin
officiating. Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
