Otto Uehling in Plattsmouth on Tuesday at the age of 94. He was born on November 1, 1860 in Dodge Co., Nebraska. He was married to Anna Sommers (Sommerer) on Jan. 15, 1884. His wife died in 1936. His children are: Norman, died 1937; Mrs. Ray Traub; Mrs. George Woerman: Theodore of Mansfield, Ohio and Vernon of Ankney, Iowa.

Funeral Friday For Otto Uehling

Funeral services will be held for Otto Uehling, Friday at 2:30 p. m. at the Palmquist Funeral Home. Rev. Allan Martin will officiate. The Masonic Lodge will conduct graveside services at the Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Uehling died at the age of 94 at the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth Tuesday. He had been in failing health for the past year but was bedfast only for 2 weeks.

Born November 1, 1860 in Dodge County he was the son of Theodore and Catherine Schwab Uehling, who had come from Germany in 1847. Mr. Uehling spent his early years on a farm west of Oakland. He attended school in Dodge County.

On January 15, 1884 he married Anna Sommers. Three sons and 2 daughters were born to this union.

Mr. Uehling, who was active in many civic reforms, helped, to start the first mail route in Oakland. He was a strong believer in woman suffrage and was an officer of the first Burt county fair committee He also served on his district's school board and was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

His wife preceded him in death in 1936. A son, Norman, died in 1937.

Survivors are 2 daughters, Mrs. Ray Traub and Mrs. George Woerman; 2 sons, Theodore of Mansfield, Ohio, and Vernon of Ankney, la.; brothers, Ludwig of Hooper, Fred of Uehling and Frank of Lincoln and one sister, Mrs. Jess Golder.hhw
