Funeral services for Helen O. Kephart, 86, Williamsburg, were held at 10:30 a.m. March 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, following a sudden illness.
The Rev. George Clausen officiated at the service.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Rod Garringer, Robert Kephart, Larry Bell, Terry Garringer, Richard Kephart and Stewart Heitshusen.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Helen O. Kephart was born July 30, 1910, in Kalona, the daughter of Virgil and Matie (sic) Coover Bell. She attended rural schools in Washington and Keota.
She married Bob Kephart Dec. 24, 1927, in Iowa City. The couple lived in Sigourney and rural Iowa County until she moved to Williamsburg in 1963. She worked in the Yearian Nursing Home, Williamsburg for 20 years.
She became a resident of Rose Haven Nursing Home in April of 1996.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one daughter, Helen-Lois; one grandson, Vonnie Lee Garringer; two sisters and one brother.
