Mrs. Garringer Dies Following Long Illness
Williamsburg; Following more than a year of illness which include surgery and repeated hospitalization, Mrs. Ralph Garringer died at the Marengo Memorial hospital Tuesday, Jun 30, 1970. Death was caused by cancer.
As Helen Lois Kephart, she was born Dec. 20, 1930 on a farm northwest of Williamsburg to Robert and Helen Bell Kephart. She attended the Hilton Consolidated school at Conroy, graduating high school with the calss of 1949. On Aug 6, 1950 she and Ralph Garringer were married in the Trinity Lutheran church in Conroy by the Rev. Feckner.
Mrs. Garringer at one time was an employee of the Star Drug store in Williamburg and in later years, after their marriage, the Garringers operated the telephone exchange in Conroy. As a child she was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church where she later served as a Sunday school teacher and a frequent assistant in the vacation Bible school. She was a member of the ESR club.
Mrs. Garringer is survived by her husband, three sons, Vonnie Lee, ______ & ______. Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Helen Kephart, a brother, harold Wayne Kephart, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bell of Yearian Nursing home, two nephews, two aunts, Mrs. Ora Endfield, Williamsburg, and Mrs. Fred Ahrns (sic), Conroy and two uncles, Dale Bell, North English, and Albert Bell, Wellman. She was preceeded in death by her father, Robert Kephart, in January 1963.
Funeral services for Mrs. Garringer were held Thursday, July 2, at 2 p.m. in the Trinity Lutheran church in Conroy. The Rev. Martin Sonntag officiated.
Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
