Robt. Kephart, 56, Died; Funeral At Trinity Church
Conroy: Robert Kephart, 56, died of a lingering illness Jan. 7 at a hospital in Cedar Rapids where he had been a patient repeatedly during the past six months.
The funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, 1963 in the Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. M. H. Sonntag officiating. The church choir furnished the music.
Pallbearers were Howard Jeck, Carroll Goettsch, John Goodrich, Leonard Te Poel, Kevin Lane, and John Dzuris.
Mrs. Alice Scurlock, Mrs. Gene Griffin, and Mrs. Frank Ahrens cared for the flowers. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
Robert Lee Kephart, son of William and Frieda Smith Kephart was born in Cedar Rapids, June 15 1906. He was baptized in infancy, confirmed on May 2, 1926, and has retained his membership in the Trinity Lutheran church. He was married to Helen Olive Bell of Sigourney in Iowa City on Dec. 24, 1926. To this union were born one daughter, Helen Lois and a son, Harold Wayne.
Mr. Kephart was employed as a truck driver by Amana Refrigeration, Inc.
Survivors include his wife, his daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Helen Lois) Garringer of Conroy; a son Harold Wayne Kephart of South Amana; two grandchildren, Vonnie Lee and ______ Garringer; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Zerl of Williamsburg, Mrs. Ed (Florence) Newhouse of Harper; two brothers, William of Sigourney and Richard of Santa Ana, Calif. His parents, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
