Clair R. Emig, 85, formerly of Abbottstown, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his residence in Spring Grove.
He was the husband of the late Phyllis J. (Duncan) Emig, his wife of 60 years, who died July 9, 2008.

Clair was born December 30, 1929, in Abbottstown, the
son of the late Robert G.W. and Mabel M. (Hoke) Emig.
Clair was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown and retired from United Defense.

Clair is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Moul and her companion James Pauley of Spring Grove; two sons, Robert W. Emig and his wife Debora of Abbottstown, and Todd E.
Emig and his wife Paulette "Lynn" of Hanover; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Emig of Abbottstown; and four sisters, Lena Breighner of Abbottstown, Erma Becker of Hanover, Doris Lease and her
husband Niles of East Berlin, and Carolyn Holsopple of East Berlin.

He was predeceased by a son, Jed A. Emig; a great-granddaughter, Madalyn G. Jacoby; two brothers, Harold "Sparky" Emig and Laverne R. Emig; and two sisters, Anna
Sanders and Geraldine Roomsburg.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Shawn Berkebile officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at
the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made St. John's Lutheran Church; or to VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
