James, 91, 615 Ann Place, Sidney, died at the Dayton Veterans Hospital Hospice Unit.

Born in Newport, he was the son of Henry and Hilda (Middendorf) Barhorst. On Aug 25, 1953, he Married Lucille A. Barhorst, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons: Mark J. and Greg, both Sidney, Matthew J. (Elaine), St. Marys; three brothers: Dennis (Alice), Beavercreek, Lester (Jeannie), Ft. Loramie, and Henry (Pat), Minster; three sisters: Betty Grillot and Mary Ann Davis, both Sidney, and Jeanette (Bernard) Koverman, Newport; and six grandchildren.

Deceased are three brothers and two sisters all linked below; and a brother-in-law, Ernie Grilliot.

He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII, later retired from Landmark, and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He loved taking long walks and playing cards.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, with Rev. Frank Amberger officiating.
