Solomon Hedrick was the fourth of seven known children of Jacob Hedrick (1775-1835) and Maria Julianna Sauers/Sowers (1774-c1811/1812), who married 05 May 1793 in Rowan County, North Carolina. After Maria died, Jacob remarried to Elizabeth Beck (c1785-1849) in c1812 and had an additional nine children. It is not known where Jacob or Maria are buried.
Solomon Hedrick married Mary (went by Polly) Swing (1813 (or 1811?) - 20 Jan 1897) on 07 Apr 1835 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Solomon and Polly were the parents of three known children, namely:
1. Wiley Hedrick (1836-1917)
2. Lavinia (Lovina?) Hedrick Frank (1838-1897)
3. Jefferson "Jeff" Frank (1842-1909).
After Solomon died, the widow Polly moved to Dent County, Missouri (in 1869) with her married daughter Lavinia Hedrick Frank.
