Jacob Hedrick was the son of Capt. Johann Peter Hedrick (1732–1798) and Anna Margaretha Hoerchelradt (1735–1800), who married 23 Oct 1760 at Lancaster County, Pennsylvaia.
Jacob first married to Maria Julianna Sauer/Sower (1774-1812) on 05 May 1793 at Rowan (now Davidson?) County, North Carolina. Jacob and Maria were the parents of seven known children, namely:
1. George Hedrick (1794-1863)
2. Susannah Hedrick Goss (1802-1892)
3. Jacob Hedrick (1803-1849)
4. Solomon Hedrick (1807-1862)
5. Michael Hedrick (1808-1884)
6. Casper Headrick (1811-1870)
7. Mary "Polly" Hedrick Hedrick (1812–1904)
After Maria died, Jacob remarried to Elizabeth Beck (1785–1849) on 10 Mar 1813 at Rowan (now Davidson?) County, North Carolina. Jacob and Elizabeth were the parents of eight additional known children, namely:
