Mr. Neal was born July 8, 1918, at Herculaneum, son of William K.D. and Lydia Jackson Neal.
On May 21, 1943, he married the former Yvonne Bienert at San Antonio, Texas. She survives.
Mr. Neal received his B.S. degree in business administration at SEMO State University here, and his master's degree in banking from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
He served with the Army during World War II, and was also an educational adviser with the Civilian Conservation Corps, teaching typing and photography and handing the administrative duties of the school. He had also been employed by the government with the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics at Sikeston.
Mr. Neal had served as a teller and a vice president of the Bank of Sikeston, Farmers and Merchants Bank, the Bank of Farmington, and the Bank of Lutesville.
He was employed 17 years by the LeFebure Corporation, retiring in 1976. He presently owned the Neal Sign Co. and the Green Door Bookstore.
Mr. Neal was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish here and the Exchange Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Kevin D. and Pat Neal, both of Cape Girardeau, Shawn M. Neal, Sikeston, Michael R. Neal, Manassas, Va., and James W. Neal, Kansas City; daughter, Mrs. Tim (Susan) Pekios, Cape Girardeau; brothers, Govie Neal, Poplar Bluff, and Milton and Charlie Neal, both of Morehouse; and adopted brother Lester Merrill, Centralia, Ill,; sisters, Mrs. Doc (Pauline) Ferrell, Pacific, Mrs. Lester (Justine) Hunt, St. Louis, and Mrs. Waldo (Louise) Ford, Dexter; and four grandchildren.
A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
The body is at Walther's Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Martin Culligan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
