Franz married Marie Balvinova on September 21, 1875, in Sedlčany, Příbram, Středočeský kraj, Střední Čechy, Österreich (Austria) now Ceská Republika (Czech Republic).
They had five children:

Anna Cejka (1878-1878)
Antonia (Nettie Chaka) Brown (1879 - aft 1947)
Frantiska Cejka (1880 - 1881)
Josef Cejka (1882 - 1882).
On June 21, 1882, Frank Cejka, took his two little girls Marie and Antonie, his infant son Josef, mother Marie Anna Stiborova Cejka, brother Jan Cejka, and young relative Josef Novak out of Europe and to Munden, Republic County, Kansas.
All except baby Josef arrived at Ellis Island on July 5, 1882. Josef Cejka, three months old, died on the ship "Herder", at sea, four days before arriving in the United States.
Frank's daughter, Mary, remembered being held up by her father to see the sight of fireworks as they sailed into New York harbor to disembark at Ellis Island.
He was a greatly loved father.
