On June 21, 1882, mother Marie Anna Cejka, son Jan Cejka, son Frank Cejka, his two little girls and his infant son, daughter Marie Cap or Chop with her husband and children, and young relative Josef Novak, departed Hamburg aboard the ship "Herder". Marie and party arrived at Ellis Island and then in New York City and traveled to meet more of her children who had already immigrated and settled around Munden, Republic County, Kansas.
Marie helped to raise the little daughters of her son Frank in Kansas: Marie or Mary Anna (Cejka or Chaka) Wussow b. Dec 8 1878 - Aug 13 1939 and Antonia or Nettie (Cejka or Chaka) Brown b. Feb 1879 - aft July 1947). Their little brother and Marie's infant grandson, Josef (Mar 1882 - July 1 1882), died at sea during the voyage to America.
In 1894, Marie followed her daughter Rosa(lie) Soulek and family, sons Jan and Frank and possibly the Caps to homestead in Noble County, Oklahoma. She died shortly after the move.
