CHARLES MUHS SERVICES HELD SATURDAY

Services in memory of Charlie Muhs were held at Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley on Saturday, May 8, 1976, 11:00 a.m. Clergyman was Rev B. W. Sayler.
Casket bearers were Pete Flick, Alvin Petersen, Marvin Zaiser, Eldo Scharnberg, Clarence Glaser and Harlan Steuben.
The committal service was at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles John Muhs, the son of Hans and Pauline Mundt Muhs, was born March 25, 1899 at Hartley, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Emma Pauline Carstensen on February 16, 1922 at Schleswig, Iowa. They farmed on the edge of Hartley for many years, retiring in 1958.

He passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital in Hartley on May 5, 1976 at the age of 77.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, one brother and one son-in-law, Fred Peters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; one son, Wayne and his wife, Jeanie and one daughter, Mildred Peters, all of Hartley; four grandchildren, LeRoy Peters, Jim Muhs, Mrs. Tom (Cheryl) Olhausen and Mark Muhs; two great-grandchildren, Jason Lee Peters and Daniel James Olhausen, as well as other relatives and friends.
