Martha Anna Muhs House was born at Hartley, O'Brien county, la., July 30, 1894 and died at Osceola, Iowa, April 4, 1925, at the age of 30 years, 8 months and 4 days.
From her birth she lived at Hartley with her parents until she grew to womanhood. Here also she met
and married Keith House June 15, 1915. The following spring they moved to Lincoln county, Neb., where
they have since lived on the ranch purchased at that time, until her death, which came as an immediate
result of the flu following a very weakened condition on the wake of an operation.
Martha was a home-builder, a tireless worker who loved her home. A pal of her husband and sister, in fact, the whole family, her home was often the place of neighborhood gatherings. In her early girlhood days she gave her heart to God and became a member of the Christian church. Three years ago added light from God's Word came to her thru the preaching of Elders, C. H. and J. T. Miller and she joined the Seventh Day Adventist church and was a faithful member to her death.
She loved the saviour and wanted to tell her neighbors and friends of her hope in him. She had a premonition that she might not get well three days before her death and said to her husband that if she were to die she hoped it might be on a Sabbath morning at dawn and that she might wake on the dawn of God's eternal rest noted in Hebrews Four. May we meet her on that morning when the voice of the Archangel and the Trumpet of God shall sound.
She leaves to mourn her early demise, her husband, Keith House of Maxwell, Neb., her mother, Mrs.
Pauline Muhs, two brothers, Charles and William Muhs, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Fahrenkrog, all of Hartley Iowa, and her twin sister, Mrs. Mary Hansen of Maxwell.
She was laid to rest in the Plain View cemetery to await the call of the life-giver. Elder G. W. Tucker of Oxford, Neb., officiated. We shall miss her, but we sorrow riot as those who have no hope.
