Lawrence Wilberding, 73, of 215 Falcon Court, Meriden, Iowa, passed away November 16, 2000 at his home, following a brief illness This loving parent and grandparent enjoyed working outdoors, card club, reading, and breakfast club at the Family Table.

Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a m at the Maryhill Visitation Catholic Church, rural Cherokee, Iowa. Rev Gene Sitzmann will officiate. Burial will be in the Visitation Church Cemetery Visitation will be Sunday from 9am to 9 p m., with a family prayer service at 7 p m at Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee.

Lawrence was born June 13, 1927 in Adrian, Minnesota, to Charles A and Mary (Jasper) Wilberding. He was educated at St. Mary's School in Remsen, Iowa. On June 13, 1950 he married Anne Kubal in Sioux City, Iowa They farmed in Rock Township for many years. Lawrence later worked for Wilson Foods, Inc , of Cherokee. He was a member of the Maryhill Visitation Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; 4 daughters, Kathy Felix and her husband Al of Tucson, Arizona, Dianne Aust and her husband Bob of Sioux City, Iowa, Merry Jo Daniel and her husband Mike of Marion, Indiana, and Laurie Van Zomeren and her husband Thane of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, 2 sons, David Wilberding and his wife Cindy of LeMars, Iowa and Dan Wilberding of Marion, Indiana, grandchildren Michael, Chris, Anthony, Justin, Jordan, Amy, Molly, Jenny, Kern, Seth and Bryce, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Alfred Wilberding and his wife Gerry of Remsen, Iowa and Ray Wilberding and his wife Peggy of Albia, Iowa, 1 sister, Helen Flaherty, and her husband, Leo, of LeMars,, Iowa, one sister-in-law, Marge Kubal, of Sioux City, Iowa, and one brother-in-law, John Kubal and his wife Berniece of Brookings, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
