Joseph Edward Dieckmann was born June 20, 1893 in St. Louis. The son of the late Herman and Mary Dieckmann. He was 62 years, 4 months and 27 days old when passing away very suddenly on Thursday morning, November 17th, 1960. Mr. Dieckmann had gone to town and was ready to help dig a grave when he left this world for his heavenly home. He had not been too well for several months suffering from a heart condition. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, children and friends.
He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted wife and four children, namely Mrs. Lawrence Schellert, Mrs. Earl Schwerdt, Mrs. Burton Dothage, Joe Dieckmann, one daughter preceded him in death, Mrs. Ida Belle Tipp; two half-sisters, Leona Hoeber, Flint Hill and Mrs. Lizzie Boyd, Omaha, Nebraska: one half brother, Henry Menten of Gilmore. One brother, Bada and sister, Clara preceded him in death. Three stepsisters, Mrs. Scott Orff, Mrs. Frances Boland, Flint Hill; Mrs. Eda Sacks, St. Charles, and seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning with High Mass at 10:00 a. m. in St. Patrick's Church, Jonesburg, with Father Lamping of Wellsville officiating. Burial was in Jonesburg Cemetery.
