Lucille Ossian, daughter of Helen Irene (May) and Wendeline Vincent Miller, was born June 3, 1940, in Creston. She graduated from Creston High School. On June 3, 1958, she married David Carlyle Ossian at Salem Lutheran Church in Creston. She was a homemaker and lived in Creston all her life. She was a longtime member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, David Ossian of Creston; four daughters, Annette (husband David) Balius of Rosendale, Mo., and Terrie (husband Tannie) Abell, Michelle (husband Michael) Crigger and Brenda (husband Richard Jr.) Slight, all of Creston; brother, David (wife Mary) Miller of Creston; four sisters, Doris Young, Ethel Carson and Maie Jensen, all of Creston, and Pat Schaffer of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, Matt Balius, Chass (wife Tiffany) Ossian, Amy Balius, MyRanda (husband Ryan) Gordon, Sara Abell, Sam Abell, Michael Crigger, Andrea Slight, Jerica Slight; three great-granddaughters, Selicity Thuman, Abby Abell and Peyton Gordon; two brothers-in-law, Bob Jackson of Thayer and Darwin (wife Frankie) Ossian of Muscatine; and two sisters-in-law, Susie Miller of Creston and Patty (husband Ralph) Lane of Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Jeffery Ossian; three brothers, Vincent, Tom and Clyde Miller; sister Helen Jackson and four brothers-in-law, Frank Young, John Carson, Earl Schaffer and Max Jensen.
