E. R. Semmler Succumbs Here


Edward Robert Semmler died this morning at 6 o'clock after an extended illness. He was born in New Braunfels on May 8, 1858, but has resided at Oak Forest for many years. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services will be held at the Baker Chapel with interment following at the Monthalia cemetery, exact day and time to be announced later.

Final Rites For E. R. Semmler Are Held Tuesday


Funeral services were held Tuesday at Baker Funeral Chapel for Edward Robert Semmler, who died Friday at his home in Oak Forest. Interment followed in the Monthalia cemetery with Rev. Loeske officiating.

Mr. Semmler is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie V. Semmler; five sons, Fritz of Beaumont, Jim of Schulenburg, Otto of Luling, Ferdinand of Sandia, and Edwardbof Gonzales; six daughters, Mrs.Winnie Rutherford of Luling, Mrs.Bill Daniels of Gonzales, Mrs. Rosie Rutherford of Giddings, Mrs. Lillian Cheatham of Leesville, Mrs. Maggie Mae Quintonnof Gonzales, and Mrs. Ruth Morris of San Antonio; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
