Mrs. Cora Bond Jenkins, 74, a lifetime resident of the Eugene community, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at Humphreys Hospital in Tuscumbia. She had been ill several months and hospitalized in recent weeks.
Funeral services were held at the Eugene Christian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. G.B. Case officiated, and the Eugene choir sang. Interment was in the Spring Garden Cemetery under the direction of Kays Funeral Services of Eldon.
The daughter of Newton and Lucy Bond, she was born near Mary's Home April 28, 1883. She was married to Isaac A. Jenkins, who survives, on Sept. 1, 1901. They were the parents of 12 children. A daughter and son died in infancy.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jenkins is survived by 10 children. The four daughters are Mrs. S. W. Roberts of Eugene; Mr. A. J. Reid and Mrs. James Albertson of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Edgar Allen, Lake Ozark. The six sons are Desmond Jenkins of the home; Basil Jenkins, Earl Jenkins and Robbie Jenkins of Kansas City, Kan.; Tandy Jenkins of Pratt, Kan., and Hershel Jenkins of Etterville.
She also leaves 29 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Arthur Bond of Lewiston, Idaho, and Harry Johnson of Clarkston, Washington.
In early life Mrs. Jenkins united with the Central Baptist Church where she still held membership at the time of her death.
