Paul Shubert, son of Bernard and Lydia (Laepple) Shubert, was born 23 March 1908 at Sylvia, Kansas, where his father served as a Methodist minister. At the age of one he moved with is family to Expanse, Saskatchewan, Canada, where they homesteaded for the next ten years.
In 1918 the Shuberts moved to a tobacco farm near Acme, North Carolina, and in 1919 to Franklin, Delaware County, New York, where they raised dairy cattle and poultry.
Paul married Dorothy Brandt at Bainbridge, New York on 18 Jun 1938. They had one child, Philip, who died as an infant in 1940. Dorothy died 21 October 1940. Paul remarried to Dorothy Eggler Quick in 1954; they divorced in 1957.
Paul purchased his parents' dairy farm in 1943 and operated it until 1955. He later was a part owner of the Country Lanes bowling alley near Wells Bridge, New York.
Paul died at his home in Franklin on 23 January 1981. He is buried in Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
