Chas. Swoboda Passes Away at La Mesa, Calif.

Services for Charles F. Swoboda, 78, of La Mesa, Calif., were held on Saturday, June 13, in Erickson Anderson Mortuary chapel, with entombment in Cypress View Mausoleum. He passed away on Thursday, June 11.

Mr. Swoboda, a postal letter carrier for 17 years, was one of the first carriers assigned to the city of La Mesa. A native of Minnesota, he served as a sergeant in the United States Army during World War I, and was a member of the American Legion Post 282.

He and Mrs. Swoboda celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last August.

Survivors include his wife, Mae; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Ruth) Abel and Mrs. Charles (Helen) Beckham, both of La Mesa; one sister, Mrs. Mary Barta of Spicer: four brothers, Jerry Svoboda of Spicer, John Svoboda of Montgomery, Emil and Louis Svoboda of New Prague; and two grandchildren, John and Robert Abel.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil J. Svoboda of New Prague attended the funeral.
