Memorial services will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector with Rev. George Schmit as celebrant. Burial will be in the Zion Evangelical Cemetery in Buffalo Lake. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arrangements by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
William John Krentz was born February 13, 1927 in Ohio to John and Catherine (Eckerman) Krentz.
He grew up in Hector and graduated from Hector High School. John served in the United States Army and served for 2 years from 1946-1947 and 1951-1952. After the Army he started working for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement. John enjoyed gardening, flowers and painting.
He married Irene Weispfennig on May 28, 1957 and they made their home in Buffalo Lake.
William is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Jean (and Dave) Duehn of Hector; his three grandchildren: Tarrie (and Rick) Culbert of Roseville, William (and special friend Kelly) Keeler of Silver Lake, and Shannon Duehn of Hector; his five great-grandchildren: Matthew, Sarah and John Culbert and Teghan and Adrieyana Duehn; his sister Bernie Molter of Lake Geneva, WI and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene; step-daughter, Helen Keeler; son-in-law, Gene Keeler and his 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
