He was born May 10, 1940, in Hector to John and Catherine (Eckerman) Krentz. He attended Hector Community School and worked as a pipe fitter in construction.
Survivors include four brothers, William of Hector, Felix of Pekin, Ill., Leonard of Hector and Francis of Franklin; six sisters, Elizabeth of Toledo, Ohio, Mary Niles of Clearwater, Fla., Catherine Schnickels of Denver, Colorado., Johanna Berwald of White Bear Lake, Susanne Berwald of Mobridge, S.D., and Bernadette Moulter of Lake Geneva, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
